Ideal Weight Calculator
Compare four common ideal weight estimates from your height and gender, then use the suggested range as a practical reference.
Formulas use height and gender. Frame size only adjusts the suggested range.
Based on formula average, healthy BMI limits, and standard frame.
Ideal weight varies. Consult a doctor.
How It Works
The calculator shows three classic formula estimates and one BMI-based range. Formula values are centered on height and gender. The suggested range averages the formula values, applies the optional frame size, and stays within the healthy BMI range.

FAQ
Which ideal weight formula should I use?
Use the formulas as comparison points, not as a single target. Devine and Robinson are common clinical references, Hamwi is widely used for a quick estimate, and the BMI-based range gives a broader healthy-weight context.
How does frame size change the result?
Frame size does not change the formula values. It adjusts the suggested range around the formula average because a smaller or larger skeletal frame can shift a practical target weight.
Why is the BMI-based range wider?
The BMI range uses every weight that falls between BMI 18.5 and 24.9 for the selected height. It is wider because it does not account for gender or body frame.
Does muscle mass affect ideal weight?
Yes. People with higher muscle mass can weigh more while still having healthy body composition. Formula calculators cannot measure lean mass, fat mass, hydration, or training status.
Is this medical advice?
No. This calculator is a general reference tool. A clinician can interpret weight goals alongside age, medical history, body composition, and personal health markers.
