Photo Censor
Blur, pixelate, or black-bar any area of a photo. Draw rectangles over faces, license plates, or sensitive information and download the result as PNG.
How it works
Your image is loaded onto an HTML Canvas. When you draw a rectangle, the selected region is processed in-place: Pixelate divides the area into blocks and fills each with its average color; Blur samples and re-draws the region with a CSS blur; Black bar fills the area with solid black. Everything runs locally in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. All processing uses the Canvas API entirely in your browser. Your photo never leaves your device.
How do I censor an area?
Upload your image, choose a censor method, then click and drag over the area you want to censor. You can draw multiple rectangles. Click Download PNG when done.
What censor methods are available?
Pixelate (blocks of averaged color), Blur (soft blur over the area), and Black bar (solid black rectangle).
Can I undo a censored area?
Click 'Clear all' to remove all censored areas and start again. You cannot undo individual rectangles separately.
