How the conversion works
Every figure is derived from your yearly salary using your weeks per year and hours per week, so all periods stay consistent with each other.
Weekly = yearly / weeks per yearHourly = weekly / hours per weekMonthly = yearly / 12The Netherlands net estimate applies the 2025 box 1 brackets along with the general and labour tax credits. It is a rough figure that excludes holiday allowance, pension, and other deductions, so treat it as a guide and confirm with a tax advisor.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between gross and net salary?
Gross is your pay before tax and deductions; net is what reaches your account after them. This tool shows gross conversions for any country and adds a rough net estimate for the Netherlands.
How is hourly pay calculated from a yearly salary?
Divide the yearly salary by the weeks you work, then by your weekly hours. At 52 weeks and 40 hours, €50,000 a year is about €24 an hour.
Does this include holiday allowance?
No. Dutch employers usually pay 8% holiday allowance (vakantiegeld) on top of salary, which is not included here, so your actual gross may be a little higher.
Why is the net estimate only for the Netherlands?
Net pay depends on each country's tax rules. We give a rough NL estimate as a starting point; for an exact figure or another country, use an official payroll calculator.
Should I use 36, 38, or 40 hours a week?
Use the hours in your contract. Full-time is commonly 40 hours, but many sectors use 36 or 38, which changes the hourly rate, so set the field to match your situation.
